This is just a
standard official emperor's list. But not only did I want a list
on historical basis but also one
on an alphabetical basis.
If applicable dates given
are of the start of his caesar-ship (Cae), co-augustus- ship (Co-a), assumption of
office (Aug), end of reign (EoR, generally marked by violent death), and
sometimes a death date. Note that n.a. = not available. After
the partitioning of the empire in a Western and Eastern part I
have 'booked' the emperors as co-augustii.
For a long time the ruler was
also the Tribunicia Potestas (Tribune of the People). The year of which is frequently given
on coins (i.e. TRP VI). This is then also the date of coin
production (6th year of tribuneship). Making it easier to approximately
date your coin.
