This is, together with my silver Augustus, my first coin I bought. For a relatively low price I
'owned' two history makers ! For al long time now I have a deep interest in M.A. and have read
his musings several times. I found his portraiture in the 'Gladiator' movie quite a good one.
Though you can ofcourse argue about the wisdom in making your son (Commodus) caesar at 13,5 when a
boy is still early in his formative years. One can then easily imagine the young caesar getting so
early in life used to real power that it corrupted him more than his father knew. Minted in
Rome.
