Hierocaesareia. The site has been fixed on the south bank of the Kum-Chai (Hyllus, later Phrygius, and still later Glaucus) about fifteen miles south of Thyatira. The town was originally called Hieracome from an ancient sanctuary of Artemis Persikis. The name Hierocaesareia was conferred upon it by Tiberius.
