The cointypes of this city mainly relate to Zeus Keraunios and to Zeus Kasios, the latter a Semitic divinity identified with Zeus and honoured with annual festivals on Mount Kasios, south of Seleuceia. The thunderbolt was a cultus-object of Zeus Keraunios, and, according to one account, was connected with the foundation of the city.
Provincially minted in Seleukia Pieria, Syria.
