Bust of empress, facing right, draped and diademed. Hair plaited and coiled in neck, upturned over the head.
2. COL F[L P]AC DEVLT (Colonia Flavia Pacensis Deultum).
Hermes standing, naked but for cape, full front facing left. In right arm a purse, in left hand holding the Cadeucus.
Tranquillina was the extremely beautiful daughter of the faithful Praetorian Prefect Timisitheus and was married to Gordian III in 241 A.D. Greatly loved by her husband, she survived his assassination, possibly due to her immense popularity with both the general population and the soldiery. Her Father died suddenly in AD 243 and was replaced by Phillippus Arabs ...
