– Legend Indiscernble -
Probably : SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI. (Senatus Populusque Romanus Optimo Principi - the Senate and the People of Rome to the Highest Prince). Pax, in Stola, standing, holding olive branch in right arm and cornucopia in left. Standing on a Dacian captive. On a clear day you can vaguely see the C (of SC) at the right side of her feet.

This coin was bought at a general collectors fair and looked better then. It was sold to me as a Trajanus with Pax on reverse. In all reality this coin is totally worn with a hole in the middle. The face is still well recognizable and could also be a Domitianus (I thought then). Clearly an older man with a very expressive face. Stephen Minnoch confirmed it to be a Trajanus. Pax on reverse supported by the fact she holds a branch and a cornucopia, the scribbling at her foot probably the remains of a Dacian Captive. Minted in Rome.
Obv. : Worn, LP - Rev. : Very worn, LP.
Must have been a top coin when freshly minted ! In all reality by now this coin is totally worn with a hole in the middle.
