1. IMP CA[E]S VESPASIANVS AVG COS IIII (Imperator Caesar Vespasianus Augustus Consulares IIII - Imperator Caesar V. Augustus Consul for the 4th time). Bust of emperor looking left.
2. AEQUITAS AVGVSTI (Aequitas Augusti – (Financial) Justice of the Augustus).
Aequitas standing, in Stola, facing left, upholding scales with right arm. Leaning onto staff with left arm. Left of her legs the S, right of them the C : making SC (Senatus Consulto – With Consent of the Senate).
Aequitas is the representation of equitable financial dealings, not really justice as such. The scales represent more those used by a money-changer than the scales of justice as we perceive it. Minted in Rome.
