Bronze AE4 - Æ 11 mm - 2 grams - Die axis 12:00.
1. [DN] ARCADI[US PF AVG] (Dominus Noster A. Pius Felix Augustus - Our Lord A. the Pious and Happy Augustus). Backside of the head, neck and piece of the diadem can be seen.
2. [GLO]RIA [EXERCITUS] (Gloria Exercitus - Glorious / Glory of the Army).
Soldier in full dress, in right arm a standard. At his right vaguely a R can be seen. At his left possibly a sort of bunch of grapes (?) can be seen.
NOTE: This coin was originally much bigger but seems to have been re-cut to size for re-use.
I found this coin in an 'rubbish' lot I bought of someone. This one, unlike the others did not take me ages to clean. :-( At the same time I bought an Arcadius on the 'net. On a totally unrelated moment I suddenly knew this smallie had to be down there somewhere. And voila !
