1. [DN V]ALEN-[S PF AVG] (Dominus Noster Valens Pius Felix Augustus - Our Lord V. the Pious and Happy Augustus). Draped and diademed emperor facing right. SEEN is back of the head, diadem and just the eye.
2. [RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE] (Restitutor Reipublicae - Restorer of the Republic).
Valens standing facing, head right, holding standard in left arm and victory on globe in his right hand. SEEN can be his body and the staff in left arm.
NOTE: This coin seems to have been recognizably re-cut to size for re-use.
