This classy city boasts of a Roman Villa (once) near the Ocean
Portugal had a long relation with the Romans, and did not end it so fast as we all above the Pyrenees did. These days the country is not too rich, and has more problems to think about than recovering what is lost. One can have a good holiday there, even if you do not play golf and can get used to the typical Portuguese way of placing traffic signs.
