Back to 2008

As can be read on the preceding page, only in 1975 the aerial photography of Jacques Dassié revealed the true size of what proved to be a full (forgotten) town. Today a city of 40 hectares is still largely covered with earth.
The photo's here are kindly on loan from Mr. Dassié for which I thank him very much. For mr. Dassié's page on Fâ / Barzan / Novioregum just click here. His site on Aerial Photography is here.

Coming in from the south/east. Just before the bay
at back we see the city of Talmont.
Now we are directly over the site. The tower is of the mill, before it more aerial archeology evidence.

The large yellow stripe is Novioregum's 'main street'. A large Horrea (warehouse) at right.

Back on the ground again. 20 (!) years later digging has begun. Here we see remains of the temple which is now a main feature on the site.
